WAYNE HADEN BEDDINGFIELD

Mr. Wayne Haden Beddingfield of Williamston, passed away Wednesday, November 8, 2017. Born in Anderson, SC on November 21, 1952, he is the son of the late George and Eunice Beddingfield of Williamston, SC.

He is survived by one brother, Charles Beddingfield of Williamston,SC; three sons Dwayne Beddingfield of Williamston, Robbie Beddingfield of Williamston, and Tony Beddingfield of Pelzer, SC.

He has eight grandchildren; Josh Beddingfield, Tyler Beddingfield, Kayla Beddingfield, Haven Beddingfield, Cierra Beddingfield, and Christian Beddingfield. And one great-grandchild Bentley Beddingfield.

He was predeceased by two brothers, David & James Beddingfield, daughter Leslie Beddingfield, and grandson “Lil’ Robbie Beddingfield.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 18,2017 at 3:00 pm at the Church of God in Williamston, SC with pastor Gene Graham officiating.

BOB ROBERTS

Maynard Ratcliffe “Bob” Roberts, 92, of Williamston, husband of Ellogene Foster Roberts, died Friday, November 10, 2017.

Born in Auburn, ME, he was the son of the late Harry and Eva May Roberts. A WWII Navy veteran, he retired from DuPont, Savannah River Plant. He was also a watchmaker for nearly sixty years and was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church, in Williamston.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Nancy Dickerson of Ocala, FL, Phyllis Ables of Bossier City, LA, Grady Roberts of Orangeburg, Jeff Roberts of Fort Mill, Ricky Roberts of Lexington, Darlene Freeman of Columbia, Mike Roberts of Saint George, Chisele Bullock  of West Columbia, Denise Butcher of Spring, TX, Mark Roberts of Williamston; sister, Eda Mae Perkins of Andover, ME; 23 grandchildren, and 30 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service was held Sunday, November 12, at Calvary Baptist Church.

Memorials be made to the Calvary Baptist Church Building Fund, 10 Academy Street, Williamston, SC 29697.

JERRY BEACHAM

Jerry Lanford Beacham, 73, of Pelzer, husband of Gail Kelly Beacham, died Friday, November 10, 2017 at his home.

Born in Laurens, he was a son of the late Clint Jackson and Laura Scroggs Beacham.  He was retired from Kaiser Aluminum and Celanese.  He was of the Church of God faith.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons, Gene Beacham of Travelers Rest, Johnny Beacham of Williamston and Mark Beacham of Pelzer; brothers, Thomas “Coot” Beacham of Pelzer and George Beacham of Knoxville, TN; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.

Funeral service was held Sunday, November 12, in the Chapel of Gray Mortuary, Pelzer. Burial followed at Pine Lawn Cemetery.

SHIRLEY R. NORRIS

Shirley Ruth Coleman Norris, 78, of Greenville, died Monday, November 6, 2017 at Greenville Health System.

She was a daughter of the late Herbert Coleman, Sr. and Fannie Belle Pullen Cleveland Coleman.

Surviving are her husband, Paul E. Norris of the home; three daughters, Kimberly Norris of Mauldin, Paula Norris Wright of Piedmont, and Travena Jo Hawkins of Jonesboro, GA; two sons, Eric R. Norris of Greenville and Mustafa Muhammad Farrah of Jonesboro, GA; two sisters, Corrine Rhodes and Canary Harper, both of Elberton, GA; two brothers, R.T. Coleman of Greenville and Dennis Coleman of Mauldin; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral service was held Saturday, November 11 at Watkins, Garrett and Woods Mortuary. Burial followed in Resthaven Memorial Gardens.

MARIE B. JACKSON

Marie Booker Jackson, 93, of Pelzer, died Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at McCall Hospice House.

Funeral service was held Tuesday, November 14 at Watkins, Garrett & Woods Mortuary. Burial followed in Greenville Memorial Gardens.

ADELE SIMPSON BREAZEALE

Adele Simpson Breazeale, 90, of Piedmont, widow of Eugene Franklin Breazeale, died November 10, 2017 in Greenwood.

She is survived by three children, Betsy Smith, Gene Breazeale, and Hayne Parks.

Born in Greenville, she was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Greenville.

A memorial service was held Monday, Nov. 13 at First Presbyterian Church in Greenwood.

CHARLES DALRYMPLE

PELZER—Charles Edwin Dalrymple, Sr., 90, husband of the late Annie Wilma Brown Dalrymple, passed away Sunday, November 12, 2017, at his home.

Born in Pelzer, he was a son of the late Arthur Walton and Eliza Jane Eskew Dalrymple. A retired carpenter and farmer, he was a charter member and First Assistant Chief of West Pelzer Fire Department, where he was instrumental in the construction of the first fire department building. He was a member of the Sons of the Confederate Veterans, and of Oak Grove Baptist Church. Mr. Dalrymple resided on the property purchased by his father in 1916 and this property has been recognized by the state of SC as a Century Farm.

He is survived by daughters, Linda Ellison (Venus) of Pelzer, Janett Bracken (Jackie) of Honea Path; sons, Charlie Dalrymple (Beth) of Pelzer, Rodger Dalrymple (Rene) of Pelzer, five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by daughter, Ann Meeks; son-in-law, Bill Meeks; brothers, Joe and David Dalrymple.

Visitation was held Tuesday, November 14, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Gray Mortuary. The funeral was Wednesday, November 15, at 11:00 a.m. in the mortuary chapel. The burial followed at New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson, SC 29621, or to the charity of one’s choice.

BECKY BROOME COBB

Rebecca Velma Broome Cobb, 76, of Townville, died Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at her home.

Born in Oconee County, she was the daughter of the late Ralph C. and Martha Martin Broome.

She retired from Dunlop Corporation in Hartwell, GA and was a member of Mount Tabor Baptist Church.

Surviving are her husband, Herschel Cobb of the home; son, Stanley Cobb of Powdersville; daughter, Cynthia Thrift of Townville; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Kenneth Broome of Townville and Dean Broome of Walhalla.

Funeral services were held Friday, Nov. 10 at Sullivan-King Mortuary Chapel. Burial followed in Double Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Mount Tabor Baptist Church Building Fund, 5901 Hwy. 187, Anderson, SC 29625.

JULIA LYNN HICKMAN

PELZER—Julia Lynn Hickman, 61, passed away Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at Greenville Memorial Hospital.

Born on December 15, 1955 in Greenville, SC, she was the daughter of Sarah Dalrymple Hickman and the late Donald Hickman. A faithful employee of Patrick Harris Hospital for 27 years, she was a member of New Hope Baptist Church and of the Ladies One Sunday School Class.

Lynn loved making crafts to give to others and especially loved working with and giving to the elderly. She was the number one fan of the Clemson Tigers. She lit up the room with her sweet heart and smile; all who knew her, loved her. She will be missed by her loving mother, cousins, and many friends.

Visitation will be held Thursday, November 16, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Gray Mortuary. The funeral will be Friday, November 16 at 3:00 p.m. at New Hope Baptist Church, with the burial to follow in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the New Hope Baptist Church Prayer Garden, 108 New Hope Road, Pelzer, SC 29669.
