Pelzer Town Council will hold a special called meeting Monday, January 8 at 6 p.m. at the Pelzer community building to discuss the appointment of a town clerk in the wake of the resignation of Pelzer’s Clerk Shane Black last week.
Black has served as the town’s municipal clerk since being named the interim clerk in July of last year after Pelzer Town Clerk Heather Holcombe submitted a letter of resignation. He was later named full time clerk and served in the position until recently.
Black also serves as the Clerk of Court for West Pelzer.
The meeting will be the first official meeting of the new council and new mayor Roger Scott, Sr.
The first regular meeting of Pelzer Town Council in 2018 is scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 16 at 7 p.m.
