The sign in front of the Williamston Municipal Center apparently didn’t get the message that it was snowing on Wednesday morning. It reflected a sunny forecast instead. As one to four inches of snow fell across the upstate early Wednesday morning, area offices and schools were closed. The Williamston area received approximately two inches of the white stuff, with the light snow resulting in slippery road conditions in places. A winter weather advisory remained in effect until mid afternoon Wednesday and falling temperatures raised concerns of black ice after sunset and overnight.
