School board begins hiring process for superintendent

Anderson School District One Board held a special called meeting Tuesday to approve new personnel and for discussion on hiring a superintendent.
No action was taken on the matter regarding the superintendent position.
Current District One Superintendent David Havird announced recently that he plans to retire at the end of this school year.
The board did approve eight teacher recommendations including:
Kyle Bishop, Business Education, Palmetto High; Emily Boatwright, Science, Wren High; Cody Dysart, Physical Education, Cedar Grove Elementary; Keri Hill, Spanish, Wren High; Layne Johnson, Grade Three, Powdersville Elementary; Nicole McGaha, Grade Three, Powdersville Elementary; Shannon Olive, Grade Seven Math, Powdersville Middle; Stacey Scarborough, Grade Four, Powdersville Elementary.
The board went into executive session for discussion on the superintendent position. No action was taken.
