Williamston Police Officers investigated the following incidents:
Feb. 9 – O’Reilly Auto Parts, 402 East Main St., Williamston reported a shoplifting incident in which a white male came in for an alternator test and while waiting picked up at least one can of 2.5 ounce black ice aerosol spray. When confronted by a store employee, the suspect stated he put the can back. The suspect was driving a white 2011 Tacoma truck. The spray was valued at $4. C. C. Brown, K. Anthony investigated.
Feb. 9 – Trent Steven Tompkins, 32, 122 Harper St., Williamston was arrested for disregarding a stop sign, driving under suspension after a black Ford SUV was observed running the stop sign at Gossett Dr. and Academy St. K. Anthony investigated.
Feb. 11 – Dollar General, 526 West Main St., Williamston reported an incident in which a clerk received a counterfeit $5 bill. T. L. Eichelberger investigated.
Feb. 8 – Elliott TyQuan Goodwin, 20, 118 Cottonwood St., Williamston was arrested and issued a summons for simple possession of marijuana after being observed smoking marijuana at the drive thru window at Hardees, 1520 Anderson Drive. According to reports officer K. Evatt was on break inside the restaurant. A clear plastic baggie of marijuana with six grams of a green leafy substance believed to be marijuana was in the vehicle. K. P. Evatt investigated.
Feb. 9 – Charles G. Buice, 90, 604 S. Adair St., Clinton reported the theft of an air condition unit from a vacant residence at 217 Prince St. in Williamston. The three ton split unit was valued at $2,000. Det. G. Culbertson investigated.
