VICKI LEWIS

Vicki Shepherd Lewis, 59, wife of David Earl Lewis, died Sunday, April 1, 2018.

Born in Wichita, KS, she was a daughter of the late Tommy Ray and Ruby McAlister Shepherd. She was a member of Williamston First Baptist Church.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by son, Tony Lewis of Williamston; sister, Gloria Wallace of Belton; brother, Tim Shepherd of Hartwell, GA.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm Wednesday, April 4, at Williamston First Baptist Church. The family will greet friends following the service.

The family respectfully requests that flowers be omitted and memorials be made to Williamston First Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 477, Williamston, SC 29697.

PEGGY KELLEY

WILLIAMSTON – Peggy Joyce Campbell Kelley, 83, wife of the late Jack Arnison Kelley, passed away Wednesday March 28, 2018.

Born in Anderson County, she was a daughter of the late Albert and Myrtle Cartee Campbell. She retired from Fiber Industries and was a member of Big Creek Baptist Church.

She is survived by her sister, Johnnie Bell of Williamston; daughter-in-law, Gwen Kelley of Williamston; grandchildren, Amber Harbin and Scott Kelley; and four great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her son, Kenneth Albert Kelley.

A graveside service was  held Friday, March 30, at 2:00 p.m. at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, with visitation to follow.

The family is at the home.

DOUG LONG

LIBERTY – Douglas Gordon Long, 81, passed away Monday, March 26, 2018.

Born in Anderson County, he was a son of the late John William and Katherine Robinson Long. He retired from Colonial Trucking.

He is survived by nieces, Denise Long Pope, Pam Cooper Hinson, Kathy Cooper Bauer, Susan Cooper Willis; nephew, John David Long and their families.

He was predeceased by brothers, Bobby, Odell and John H. Long; sister, Anne Long Cooper.

Visitation was from 5:00 to 7:00 pm Friday, March 30, at Gray Mortuary, Pelzer.

A graveside service was  held at 2:00 pm Saturday, March 31, at Grove Station Baptist Church.

Flowers were accepted or memorials may be made to Grove Station Baptist Church, 640 Piedmont Highway, Piedmont, SC 29673.

The family was at the home of his niece, Pam Hinson.

RONALD CERMAK

Ronald Roy Cermak, 72, of Pelzer, husband of Marge Cermak, died Wednesday, March 28, 2018.

Born in Chicago, IL, he was a U.S. Air Force veteran and retired from the U.S. Postal Service.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons, Richard Cermak of Oakbrook Terrace, IL and Lance Cermak of Villa Park, IL; daughters, Deborah Bremberg of Elgin IL, Christine Pruett of Pelzer and Karla Helton of South Elgin, IL; thirteen grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.

Funeral service was held Tuesday, April 3, in the mortuary chapel with burial at Greenville Memorial Gardens.

BOB POWELL

Bob Barnett Powell, of Easley, died Friday, March 30, 2018.

He was predeceased by his wife, Wanda Lou Powell.

He was a son of the late Lester Lee Powell and the late Emily Gurley Powell.

He retired from Dunean Plant and was a member of Living Sanctuary Church in Piedmont.

Surviving are daughters, Kim Bullard of Powdersville and Katina Shirley of Simpsonville; sisters, Barbara Owens and Gay Norris, both of Greenville; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 3 at Living Sanctuary Church, Piedmont. Burial followed in Robinson Memorial Gardens.

DIONNE DIXON

Dionne “Rosie” Dixon, 35, of Piedmont, died Wednesday, March 28, 2018.

Surviving are her mother, Diane Dixon; her husband, Alex Rice; three sons, Brandon, Kyle, and Rhys Rice; and one sister, Nikki Dixon Small.

Funeral services were held Monday at Mt. Lebanon AME Church in Donalds.

Burial followed at Forksville Cemetery.

RAY ANTHONY ARNOLD

The Unity Mortuary of Williamston announces that family and friends will gather 3:00 p.m. Thursday, April 5, 2018 to celebrate the life of Ray Anthony Arnold at The Unity Mortuary-Roosevelt Thompson Memorial Chapel in Williamston with interment to follow at New Hopewell Baptist Church, Belton.

The family is at the home, 46 Market Street, Williamston.

ARIEL SMITH

Ariel Lee Smith, 81, of Piedmont, died Thursday, March 29, 2018.

Born in Anderson, she was the daughter of the late Roy Dewey and Mary Junkins McAlister.

She was the wife of the late Robert Earl Smith and was a member of First Baptist Church of Piedmont.

She is survived by her daughters, Sonja Smith, Cynthia Smith, Heather Smith, and Melissa Smith; sister, Dorcas Allen of Webster, Missouri; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

A memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church of Piedmont, 8 First Baptist Church Road, Piedmont, on Saturday, April 7 at 11 a.m.

Donations may be made to First Baptist Church of Piedmont.

RAFAEL HEREDIA PAGAN

Rafael “Rafa” Heredia Pagan, 82, of Easley, died Monday, April 2, 2018 at his home.

Born in Jayuya, Puerto Rico, he was a son of the late Ramon Heredia Lopategui and Isaias Pagan Rosario.

Surviving are his wife, Angela Heredia Pagan; children, Rafael Heredia, Jr. of Easley, Evelyn Maldonado of Piedmont, Carmen Buntenbach of Easley, and Ana Maria Brown of Greenville; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brothers, Confessor Heredia, Ramon Heredia, Monserrate Heredia, Agustin Heredia and Carlos Heredia, all of Jayuya, PR; and sisters, Margarita Heredia, Carmen Heredia and Maria Heredia, all of Jayuya, PR.

Funeral service will be held Saturday, April 7 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Powdersville Road, with burial to follow in Robinson Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends Friday from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
