Outdoorsman Banquet to feature former Braves Sid Bream

The Call Wild Game Outdoorsman Banquet will be held this Saturday, May 5 from 5 pm to 8 pm in the old Winn Dixie building, located at Town Square Center in Williamston.
The event, sponsored by Beaverdam Baptist Church, will feature keynote speaker, former Atlanta Braves first baseman, Sid Bream.
Bream is known for his stand for Christ, and also his slide into home plate which sent the Braves to the World Series after game 7 against the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 1992 National League Championship Series.
Bream will share his heart for Christ and information about The Dream foundation, which provides support for terminally ill adults and their families by providing end-of-life Dreams that offer inspiration, comfort and closure.
Morgan Swaney will be giving a presentation for Muscular Dystrophy (MDA) and Fredriechs ATAXIA (FA).
David Meares of Meares Auction will be auctioning sports memorabilia.
There will be a love offering and door prizes.
All proceeds from the event will go to the Swaney family, who are in need of service dogs for their children Dawson and Morgan.
Any other proceeds will go to the Cheddar Youth Center to help support their youth baseball program.
Food available at the event will consist of barbecue, limited wild game and fixings.
Tickets for food and gifts will be $2 per ticket.

According to Pastor Brandon Couch, the church and community has already begun to answer “The Call” with organizations partnering with them on the venture.
The venue is being provided by ACE Hardware.
