MARY MILLER, JACKIE DUNN MILLER, NANCY RAINES, CHARLES ETHRIDGE, LENARD FLYNN, TONY GAMBRELL, EDNA MAE FARMER BAGWELL

MARY MILLER

WILLIAMSTON – Mary Lou Ragsdale Miller, 72, wife of the late Alvin Hendrix Miller, Jr., passed away Thursday, May 10, 2018.

Born in Anderson County, she was a daughter of the late Clifford Haney and Lillie Mary Wright Ragsdale.

She is survived by daughters, Jennifer Lynn Miller and Kimberly Denise Miller-Kainer (John Henry), both of the home and Kimberly Shawn France of Williamston; former son-in-law, John Paul Cranmer (Kimberly Ann) of Greenwood; sister, Sharon Davenport of Pelzer; brothers, Kenneth, Timothy and Larry Ragsdale, all of Pelzer; grandchildren, Kristen Danielle Miller (James Lusk), PFC Steven Gunner Cranmer and Brinslee Arabella Miller.

She was predeceased by sister, Linda Emery; brother, Richard Ragsdale.

Visitation was from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Saturday, May 12, at Gray Mortuary, Pelzer.

A graveside service was held at 2:00 pm Monday, May 14, at Shiloh United Methodist Church.

JACKIE DUNN MILLER

Jacqueline Dunn “Jackie” Miller, 82, of Piedmont, widow of Scott Clay Miller, died Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at her home.

Born in Anderson, she was the daughter of the late Joe and Gladys Hanna Dunn. She retired from Spearman Elementary School and was a member of First Baptist Church, Piedmont.

Surviving are her daughter, Lisa Miller Patton of Powdersville; one grandson; and a brother, Tommy Dunn of Anderson.

Funeral services wee held Saturday, May 12 at Sullivan-King Mortuary Chapel. Entombment followed at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum.

NANCY RAINES

Nancy Mims Brown Raines, 82, of Piedmont, wife of Johnny Edward Raines, Sr., died Sunday, May 13, 2018.

Born in Piedmont, she was a daughter of the late John Milton and Nancy Mims Brown.  Mrs. Raines was a homemaker and a member of Lickville Presbyterian Church.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by children, Lisa Raines Burnette of Charlotte, NC and Eddy Raines of Pelzer; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

A graveside service was held Wednesday, May 16, at Greenville Memorial Gardens.

CHARLES ETHRIDGE

Charles Stephen Ethridge, 51, of Anderson, died Saturday, May 12, 2018 at Magnolia Manor in Inman.

Born in Anderson, he was the son of James Harold Ethridge and the late Elizabeth Patterson.

In addition to his father of Starr, he is survived by his sisters, Dorothy Bevill of Woodruff, Jenny Brewster of Anderson, and Ellen McDaniel of Anderson; brother, James William Ethridge of Williamston.

LENARD FLYNN

Lenard John Flynn, 84, of Anderson, husband of Betty “Jo” Flynn, died Sunday, May 13, 2018 at his home.

Born in Port Jervis, NY, he was the son of the late John Stephen and Genevive Viola Hughson Flynn.

He was a Korean War veteran of the U.S. Army. He was the owner of Material Management Inc. in Powdersville and attended Covenant Baptist Church.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Mary Lenard Hall of Anderson; step-son, Michael Bridges of Anderson; step-daughter, Sandra Barrett of Anderson; sister, Joan Hubbard of Asheville, NC; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

A graveside service was held Tuesday, May 15 at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

TONY GAMBRELL

Tony Michael Gambrell, 65, of Anderson, died Saturday, May 12, 2018 at AnMed Health Medical Center.

Born in Anderson County, he was a son of the late Rex Calvin and Dorothy Eugenia Davis Gambrell. He was a member of Chiquola Baptist Church and worked with Michelin.

Surviving are his son, Tony Michael Gambrell, Jr. of Williamston; brother, Mark Gambrell of Greenwood; and sister, Judy Diane Sutherland of McCormick; and two grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 17 at Pruitt Funeral Home Chapel.  Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Anderson.

The family is at their respective homes and will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home prior to the service.

EDNA MAE FARMER BAGWELL

Edna Mae Farmer Bagwell, 63, wife of Joe R  Bagwell, of Piedmont passed away on Monday, May 14, 2018.

Born in Pulaski, VA she was the daughter of the late Roby Farmer and Mary Ethel Dalton Farmer.

She is survived by her daughter Amanda Keeler (Brent Keeler) of Williamston, son Michael Galloway (Anne Galloway) of Piedmont, Step- daughter Lindsay Lusk (Tony Lusk) of Piedmont,  Step-son Joey Bagwell (Jennifer Bagwell)  of  Abbeville, 11 grandchildren, and sister Sue Wyatt of Axton, VA

She was predeceased by three brothers Jackie Farmer, Tom Farmer, William Farmer, and two sisters Bertha Lawson and Judy Strong.

Services were held at Big Creek Baptist Church, Friday May 18 2018 from 5 to 7.
