DALE ELLISON

WILLIAMSTON – Benjamin Dale Ellison, 59, passed away Tuesday, June 12, 2018.

Born in Belton, he was a son of Louie Harold and Doris Watkins Ellison, of the home. A member of Beaverdam Baptist Church, he served in the U.S. Navy for four years, retired from Sealed Air, and was a member of the American Legion, Post 121.

He is survived by a brother, Gary Ellison (Kathey) of Williamston; nephews, Joe Ellison, and Patrick Ellison (Emily); great-nephew, Jeremiah Layne Ellison; and great-niece, Karah Ellison.

He was predeceased by a brother, Steve Ellison.

Visitation was held Saturday, June 16, from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. at Beaverdam Baptist Church. The funeral followed at 2:30, with burial in the church cemetery.

Flowers were accepted, however, the family would prefer that memorials be made to Beaverdam Baptist Church, Youth Fund, 1904 Beaverdam Road, Williamston, SC 29697; or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 950 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

The family is at the home of brother, Gary, 1514 Beaverdam Road, Williamston, SC 29697.

DONNIE BURTON

Edward Donald “Donnie” Burton, Sr., 72, of Pelzer,  husband of Vickie Karen Cooley Burton, died Thursday, June 14, 2018.

Born in Fountain Inn, he was a son of the late Aubrey Leonard Burton and Kathleen Irene Roberts Burton. A member of Oak Pointe Church, he was a retired E.M.T. and a former Chief of the Pelzer Rescue Squad.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons, Ed Burton, Jr. of Pelzer, and Andrew Burton of Pelzer; step-mother, Edna Brady Burton of Williamston; brothers, Bobby and Mark Burton; sister, Debbie Sims; one grandson; one granddaughter; and a great-granddaughter.

A memorial service was  held Monday, June 18, in the chapel of Gray Mortuary.

BRENDA PRIDMORE

WILLIAMSTON – Brenda Gayle Durham Pridmore, 69, passed away Saturday, June 16, 2018.

Born in Pelzer, she was the daughter of the late James Tommy and Ellen Lype Durham. She retired from Anderson School District One where she worked in the cafeteria at Wren Elementary School. She was a member of Pelzer Church of God.

She is survived by sons, Todd Pridmore of the home and Greg Pridmore (Melissa) of Williamston.

She was predeceased by brother, Robert Durham.

Visitation was from 2:00 to 3:00 pm Wednesday, June 20, at Pelzer Church of God. The service followed at 3:00 pm at the church. Burial was at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

VADIE COPELAND

Vadie Jewel Campbell Copeland, 94, of Williamston, wife of the late Joe Jackson Copeland, died Monday, June 18, 2018.

Born in Williamston, she was a daughter of the late Calvin Calhoun Campbell, Sr. and Clara May Poore Campbell. She retired from Cushman Mill and was a member of Big Creek Baptist Church.

She is survived by her sons, Jackie Calvin Copeland of Seneca, William Ronnie Copeland of Iva; daughter, Judy Ann Black of Williamston; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

   She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

  Funeral service was held  Wednesday, June 20, in the Chapel of Gray Mortuary. Burial followed at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

The family is at the home of daughter, Judy Black, 312 Willingham Road, Williamston, SC 29669.

JUDITH MADDEN

Judith Anne Rippetoe Madden, 71, of Easley, widow of Carl Guy Madden, died Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at her home.

Born in Morristown, TN, she was the daughter of the late Dewey Douglas and Anne Holder Rippetoe. She was a homemaker and a Methodist.

Surviving are a son, Kenny Madden of Piedmont; daughters, Dawn Nichols and Kristie Drew, both of Piedmont; brother, Douglas Downer Rippetoe of Dandridge, TN; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

A cryptside service with entombment was held Saturday, June 16 at Greenville Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.

KATHLEEN “MEME” PARTAIN

Kathleen “MeMe” Burnette Partain, 84, of Anderson, died Friday, June 15, 2018 at Rainey Hospice House.

Born in Anderson, she was the daughter of the late Alex Burnette and Lula Pelfrey Burnette.

She worked for Walmart and attended Taylor Memorial Pentecostal Holiness Church.

She is survived by children, Shirley Smith of Williamston, Charles F. Partain and Ray E. Partain, both of Anderson; half-sister, Helen Craft; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral service was held Tuesday, June 19 in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home. Interment followed at New Silver Brook Cemetery.

JOE HOLCOMBE

Joseph Sylvester “Joe” Holcombe, 88, of Williamston, husband of the late Betty Robinson Holcombe, died Thursday, June 14, 2018.

Born in Liberty, he was a son of the late John Edd and Eula Mae Bagwell Holcombe. He was a Korean War veteran in the U.S. Army, retired from Harper Corporation, and was a member of Grace United Methodist Church.

He is survived by sons, Mitch Holcombe and Phil Holcombe, both of Williamston; sisters, Dolly Kay and Annette Ensley; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

A graveside service was held Sunday, June 17, at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

AUDREY KYZER

Audrey Mae Bryant Kyzer, 93, of Anderson, wife of the late Maurice H. Kyzer, died Friday, June 15, 2018 at AnMed Health Medical Center.

Born in Anderson, she was the daughter of the late Frank Bryant and the late Della Daniel Bryant. She retired from JP Stevens and was a member of Temple Baptist Church.

She is survived by her sons, Jerry Kyzer of Anderson, and Ronald Kyzer of Pelzer; brother, Gary Bryant; sister, Christine Williams; five grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral service was held Monday in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home. Interment followed at New Silver Brook Cemetery.
