This wall cloud was observed along Hwy. 20 in the Cheddar area yesterday (Thursday) at approximately 5:10 p.m. The cloud was accompanied by heavy rain. Local TV news media have posted video of a possible tornado in the area at about the same time and a tornado warning was later issued at approximately 7 p.m. with a funnel cloud observed in Anderson moving toward West Pelzer and Piedmont. Anderson County Emergency Services reported approximately 50 trees down around the county. As of 10 p.m. Thursday, 3200 customers were without power in the county. (Journal photo)
