SARA BEACHAM

WEST PELZER – Sara Elizabeth Gaines Beacham, 85, wife of the late Bill Jackson Beacham, Sr., passed away Saturday, November 3, 2018.

Born in Hartwell, GA, she was the daughter of the late Early Guy Gaines, Sr. and Pauline Moss Gaines.  She was a retired office manager with McCool Industrial Power in Piedmont and a member of Williamston Church of God of Prophecy.

She is survived by her sons, Gary Forrester and wife Pam of New Mexico, Larry Forrester of the home and Greg Forrester of Williamston; brothers, Edward and Billy Frank Gaines of Easley; five grandchildren and 14 step-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a grandson, Zachary Forrester and brothers, Early Guy Gaines, Jr. and Denver Parcell Gaines.

Visitation was held Tuesday, November 6, from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Gray Mortuary with the service following at 4:00 in the mortuary chapel.  Burial was in the Pine Lawn Cemetery, Pelzer.

The family will be at the home of Greg Forrester, 103 Dacus Drive, Williamston.

TONY DENDY

WILLIAMSTON – Charles Anthony “Tony” Dendy Sr., 72, husband of Peggy McCown Dendy, passed away Friday, November 2, 2018.

Born in Knoxville, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Milton Randolph and Elsie Bannister Dendy.  He was an U.S. Army veteran, having served in Vietnam.  He was a project manager for various heating and air companies and was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons, Charles Anthony Dendy, Jr. of Stephenson, VA and Jeffrey Michael Dendy of Piedmont; grandchildren, Avery Claire Dendy, Catherine Elizabeth Dendy, and Colin Mills Dendy.

Visitation was Tuesday, November 6, 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at Gray Mortuary with the service following at 11:00 in the Mortuary Chapel.  Burial was at M.J. “Dolly” Cooper Veterans Cemetery.

LIDA SAXON TIMMS

Lida Saxon Timms, 105, widow of Troy Lee Timms of Belton, died Wednesday, October 31, 2018 at AnMed Health Medical Center.

Born in Pelzer, she was the daughter of the late James Marion and Janie Madden Saxon.

She sold Stanley Home products and worked for Gene Anderson’s Shoe Store. She was a member of Belton Church of God.

Surviving are: son, Carroll Lee Timms of Belton; two granddaughters; three great grandchildren; one great great-grandchild;

Funeral service was held  Saturday at Belton Church of God. Burial followed at Cedar Grove Baptist Church cemetery.

The family was at the residence of her granddaughter, Kristi Jennings at 409 Caroll Rd., Belton, SC 29627.

JOHN WOOD

John Edward Wood, 75, of Piedmont died  October 25, 2018. He is survived by his wife Judy V. Wood.

Survivors include one daughter Debbie Baker, two granddaughters; and three great grandchildren.

A celebration of his life was held November 3 at Augusta Road United Methodist Church, 8324 Augusta Road, Pelzer.

Memorials may be made to Augusta Road Methodist Church or the charity of one’s choice.

RICHARD “RICK” ALEXANDER

1-26-1962 to 10-30-2018

Rick Alexander, 56, of Piedmont, S.C. passed away Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2018 from injuries sustained in a morotcycle accident.

He was the son of the late L.C. Alexander and Faye Alexander. He is survived by his son Chad Alexander of Piedmont; his grandchildren, Hannah Alexander and Chance Alexander; sisters, Hilda Lollis (Bill), Cheryl Hammond (Terry); brother, Kenny Alexander (Darlene); Fiancé, Maria Boiter.

Rick loved to fish and ride motorcycles and spending time with Timber his Labrador.

A memorial service will be held Friday, November 9, 2018. Visitation will be at 2 p.m.; service at 3 p.m.

RICHARD BAWKUM

Richard Andrew Bawkum, 50, of Greenville, died Saturday, November 3, 2018.

Born in Greenville, he was a son of Peggy Pittman Bawkum of Greenville and the late Joseph Andrew Bawkum.  He was self-employed as a carpenter.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his daughter, Erika Danielle Bawkum of Greenville and his son, Cody Andrew Bawkum of Easley; brother, Kenny Bawkum of Greenville; and one grandson.

   The service was held Tuesday, November 6, in the Chapel of Gray Mortuary.  Burial followed at Greenville Memorial Gardens.

VIRGINIA ANN HENDERSON FAUCETTE

Virginia Ann Henderson Faucette, of Laurens, died on Nov. 6, 2018 at the Martha Franks Retirement Community in Laurens.

She is survived by her husband, the Rev. Thomas T. Faucette; children, James Thomas Faucette of Nashville, TN, David Lawton Faucette of Greer, and John Steven Faucette of Williamston; five grandchildren; one great-grandson; and a brother, Tommy Henderson of Hodges.

She was predeceased by her parents, John and Lucille Cradock Henderson.

She taught school in various places including Belton Elementary.

She was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church, Laurens.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Friday, November 9, at Martha Franks Rasor Chapel. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service in Cooper Dining Hall.
