Recent medical issues experienced by Pelzer Mayor Roger Scott have caused a change in the scheduling of the January meeting of the town council. The date and time of the meeting have been changed to 10:30 a.m. Thursday morning at the town offices rather than the community building.
According to town clerk Cheryl Boudreau, the mayor “does better in the mornings than he does in the afternoon or evening.” Scott was briefly hospitalized during the holidays and has undergone additional tests in recent days. Town Councilman Eddie Waits, who maintains a facebook page called Eddie Waits I’m from Pelzer, reported on his page about the original event, explaining that Scott was released from the hospital the day after he was admitted. He has since reported that Scott is doing well.
The agenda for the January 2018 meeting included the election of a mayor pro tem. The pending agenda had not been published at the time of this article’s writing.
The meeting will be at the old Town Hall on Courtney Street.
