Williamston man charged with attempted murder after firing multiple shots

A Williamston man is facing two charges of attempted murder after firing shots inside a house and at officers early this morning ( Monday). According to Captain Kevin Marsee of the WPD, two Williamston Police Officers responded to a domestic call at 611 Williams Street around 3 am. Officers received information that a person on scene had a gun and that a male was shooting inside the house with a female and children inside. Upon arriving at the scene, a male was at the rear of the house and fired shots at the officers.
Officers were able to command the person to put the weapon down and take him into custody with use of a Taser, Marsee said. Officers determined several shots were fired inside and outside of the residence. No one was hit by gunfire during the incident.
Joshua Blake Taylor, 36, 611 Williams St Williamston is charged with two counts of attempted murder, three counts of Domestic Violence of a High and Aggravated Nature, and one count of Domestic Violence.
