Two area churches vandalized

GCSO investigating church vandalism

Investigators with the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office are investigating two separate cases of church vandalism. The first reported incident occurred at Waycross Church, located at 104 Waycross Church Road and the second, at Augusta Road United Methodist Church, located at 8324 Augusta Road. Deputies responded Sunday morning after the church pastors witnessed damage to both of their respective church’s stained glass windows. The damage, believed to be caused by some type of projectile, occurred at some point during the evening of March 2nd into the morning of March 3rd. There were no signs of forced entry in either of the churches.
Investigators ask for anyone with information regarding these incidents to call Crime Stoppers of Greenville at 23-CRIME.
