Deputy injured during response – Hwy. 29

An Anderson County Deputy responding to a call to assist another deputy was injured in a wreck Thursday (Apr. 4) evening. The deputy was responding with lights and siren northbound on Highway 29 near Griffin Road. A vehicle pulled out of Griffin Road and was heading north when the deputy swerved to the right to avoid the vehicle. The deputy’s car crashed through a fence and down an embankment. He was transported to the hospital by Medshore Ambulance Service with minor injuries. Whitefield firefighters also assisted at the scene. (Photo by David Rogers)
