MILLS CURTIS MAHAFFEY

Mills Curtis Mahaffey, 70, husband of Sheila Hoffman Mahaffey, went to be with the Lord, Saturday, April 6, 2019.

He was born in Belton to the late Mills Hunter Mahaffey and Annie Grace King Mahaffey.  He was a former Anderson County Deputy, former Anderson City Policeman and a former volunteer and photographer for West Pelzer Fire Department.  He loved to hunt and fish and was a member of Rockvale Baptist Church.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are two sons, Dale Mahaffey and wife Lisa and Michael Mahaffey; a daughter, Susan Stewart and husband Joey; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of his life was Tuesday at Rockvale Baptist Church, 652 Old Grove Road, Piedmont.

JACK LEE RODGERS

Jack Lee Rodgers, 91, of Williamston, husband of the late Mary Elizabeth Aiken Rodgers, died Wednesday, April 3, 2019.

Born in Anderson, he was the son of the late James Harold and Tonnie Hammond Rodgers. He was a Seabee in the U.S. Navy Reserves. He retired from Allstate Insurance Company and was a member of City View First Baptist Church.

Survivors include his daughter, Jackie Waldrop and husband, Larry; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren; and a sister, Alma Rodgers Batson.

A family graveside service was held Friday, April 5, at Graceland Cemetery, West.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Foothills, 390 Keowee School Road, Seneca, SC 29672.

DOUGLAS EDWARD SEWELL

Douglas Edward Sewell, 64, of Liberty, died on Monday, April 1, 2019.

Born in Long Beach, CA, he was a son of the late Bennie Sr. and Janice Newbold Sewell. He served in the United States Army and was a retired auto mechanic.

He is survived by his brothers, Bennie Frank Sewell, Jr. of the home, and Jeffrey K. Sewell of Piedmont.

No services will be held.

Memorials may be made to a charity of one’s choice.

VIOLET STYLES

Violet Etta Stephens Styles, 89, of Easley, wife of Billy Elmore Styles, died Saturday, April 6, 2019.

Born in White County, GA, she was a daughter of the late Grace Lucinda Beck Stephens.  She was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church, Greenville and a homemaker.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Joan Stanley, Dennis Alexander and Billy Styles, Jr. all of Easley; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Funeral service was held Monday, April 8, in the Chapel of Gray Mortuary.  Burial followed at Greenville Memorial Gardens.

ELOISE MILLER GRANT

Eloise Miller Grant, 76, of Piedmont, widow of Joseph Wesley Grant, died April 4, 2019.

Born in Pickens County, she was a daughter of the late Dee and Oler Smith Miller.

She retired in 2008 from Ryobi.

She is survived by her children, Joey Grant of Pickens, Wanda Morgan of Pickens, Trisha Grant of Six Mile, Gail Avery of Piedmont; two brothers, JD Miller of Piedmont, B.F. Miller of Pickens; a sister, Vera Wood of Six Mile; and many  grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Funeral service was held Sunday, April 7 at Powdersville First Baptist Church.

ILENE ELLISON PACE

Leila Ilene Ingram Ellison Pace, 92, of Piedmont,died Friday, April 5, 2019.

Born in Palatka, FL, she was a daughter of the late Luther Pinkney and Leila Mae Fowler Ingram. She was twice married, first to the late Carl Ellison, then the late Carl Brooks Pace. She retired from K-Mart and was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church.

She is survived by her daughter, Shirley Ellison Brown of Greenville; sons, Thomas C. Ellison, Donald E. Ellison of Piedmont, and James R. Ellison of Belton; step-son, Ray Pace of Hendersonville, NC; sisters, Pat Henderson of Blairsville, GA, Rachel Heidrich of Altamonte Springs, FL, and Ruth Brogren of Emerald Isle, NC; brothers, Richard Ingram of Allendale, SC and Horace Ingram of Temple, TX; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Funeral service was held Wednesday, April 10, at Oak Grove Baptist Church. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

PELHAM ‘BUDDY’ MEDLOCK, SR.

Pelham Murphy “Buddy” Medlock, Sr., of Belton, husband of Joyce Griffith Medlock, died Sunday, April 7, 2019.

He was twice married, first to the late Betty Jean Holliday Medlock.

Born in Greenville, he was a son of the late Lewis Murphy Medlock, Jr. and Jessie Bayne Medlock. A member of Cedar Shoals Baptist Church, he retired from Duke Power Company.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Pelham Medlock, Jr., and Meleeda Kelley, both of Belton; step-children, Larry Baldwin of Williamston, and Vickie Chism of Powdersville; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Funeral service was held Wednesday, April 10, at Cedar Shoals Baptist Church. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

ROBERT EDWARD RAMPEY

Robert Edward Rampey, 86, of Duncan, died April 7, 2019.

A native of Piedmont, son of the late John Samuel and Marion Major Rampey, he was a U.S. Air Force Veteran, a retired employee of Eastern Air Lines and a member of Lyman Wesleyan Church.

Surviving are his wife, Miriam Joan Free Rampey of the home; one son, Mark Stephen Rampey of Hermitage, Tennessee; a daughter, Michelle Denise Rampey of Alexandria, Virginia; one brother, Joseph Rampey of Greenville; two grandchildren; and a great-grandson.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 11, 2019 at The Wood Mortuary. Burial will follow in M.J. “Dolly” Cooper Veterans Cemetery.

Visitation will be held 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 10, 2019 at The Wood Mortuary.

The family is at the home.
