Clarification – A recent story on the Hwy. 8 speed limit change in Pelzer and West Pelzer stated that Pelzer Town Council had approved a resolution in support of the change. Pelzer Town Council did not approve such a resolution, opting to have individual council members and the mayor sign off on the SCDOT map and documents noting the proposed change. According to Town Clerk Cheryl Beaudreau, Pelzer officials were not included in the initial meeting between West Pelzer official and SCDOT where the speed limit change was discussed.
