The Palmetto Area Farmers Market will open this Thursday, June 6 at 4 p.m. In addition to the folks you have grown to know and love, there will be several new vendors including Haddan Farms with local produce, TeeTyme Productions, bringing bath and body products and Sweet Bites of Italy with delicious sweet treats like biscotti and cannoli. Modern Forestry Soy Candles, who participated in the Homesteading Festival, will be a weekly vendor now!
There will be food trucks and a featured non-profit as well as demonstrations and classes on opening day and throughout the season.
If you are a local farmer who has a bumper crop and just want to come for one or two markets, the cost is $10 for a spot, and you must bring your own table and tent.
“We are offering volunteer hours to students, and we have a group for people interested in volunteering to teach classes on Facebook,” said Farmers Market Director Marnie Schwartz-Hanley
The Palmetto Farmers Market will be held in Williamston’s Mineral Spring Park weekly on Thursdays through September 13. For more information call 864.906.7660.
