Crandall to leave Envision Williamston

Envision Williamston Executive Director Sonya Crandall announced recently that she will be leaving the position she has held for the last four years effective in July.  Crandall has led the Envision Williamston program through numerous programs and projects, including beautification, streetscape, business development and community engagement, that have improved the Town of Williamston since she became head of the program.
She has been very successful in obtaining grants to help fund the projects. Most recently, the Williamston Downtown Acceleration Program (WDAP), which included artistic murals, aspirational decals, decorative banners, facade improvements, adopt a rest stop sites, greenway landscaped areas projects accomplished over the past year and a half through the Envision Williamston program
She has also been instrumental in producing a business assistance guide for the town, a  new walking tour, a mobile app, Scarecrow decorating contest and a mural contest resulting in five new murals in the town. She also oversaw a facade grant program and the Main Street Challenge to recruit new businesses to the town.
Crandall said she will be moving to Florida where she plans to spend more time with her grandchildren.
The Envision Williamston Board plans to meet in July to begin the process of accepting applications for the position.
