Following an investigation into the circumstances of a shooting that took place in Williamston last week, authorities have decided that no charges will be filed against Antwain Lorenta Moton .
Moton, who lives at 440 Boiter Road, shot and killed Efren Nectali Ramirez, a thirty nine year old man from Honduras, who forced his way into the residence. According to Moton and several other witnesses, a scuffle ensued before Moton produced a handgun and fired one shot, striking Ramirez in the chest.
Anderson County Deputy Coroner McCown said that Ramirez had been working in the Upstate for some time, and lived across the street from where he was shot. McCown said Ramirez appeared to be heavily intoxicated when he died.
