Organizers of the 38th Annual Spring Water Festival have announced entertainment for the two day festival which is coming up August 23 and 24. Music lovers are invited to bring a lawn chair or blanket and enjoy a day of music and other activities including free kids activities, amusement rides, more than 100 business and craft vendors, antique and classic auto show, live music, 5K run and other special attractions.
The Blue Sky Blues band will kick off entertainment on Friday at 6 p.m. and will be followed by Powerglide with the SLS Horns at 8 p.m. There will also be festival food and many of the craft vendors will be offering items on Friday.
On Saturday, Angela Easterling and the Beguilers will start entertainment at 10 a.m. followed by The Royal Scotsmen Band at 12 noon, Easton Gowan at 1:45 and the Carolina Coast Band at 3 p.m
Eternal Vision will return to the Gospel Stage. Also appearing will be Craig Ledford, The Other Side, Jerry & Pam Maples, The Chordsmen, Living Truth, Gary Hart and Hartstrings, David Earl Lawson, Leeve Lopez, The Bradys and Catlin Tierce.
Organizers are still accepting vendor, display, run applications and vehicles for the car show, though time is running out. Any local craft vendor interested in participating in the event can pick up an application and guidelines at The Journal office or online at the Spring Water Festival website at www.springwaterfestival.com.

The festival will again feature one of the upstate’s largest antique and classic auto shows, being sponsored by the Williamston Fire Department. The 5K Spring Water Run will be a featured attraction and will be held on Saturday, Aug. 24 at 8:30 a.m. There will also be a 1 mile fun run at 7:45 a.m.
The Spring Water Festival is held in Williamston’s Historic Mineral Spring Park and celebrates the founding of a town that was once a popular tourist destination, with the state’s largest hotel and drawing people from across the state to enjoy the benefits of a mineral spring which reportedly had medicinal qualities. Today the spring around which the town was built still flows, offering visitors a cool, refreshing drink of spring water in Mineral Spring Park, one of the oldest public parks in the country.
