Investigate “road rage” shooting – Jameson Drive

Anderson County Sheriff’s deputies along with Pelzer EMS responded to the report of a shooting Saturday night on Jameson Drive at Highway 81 in the Powdersville community. Apparently someone shot through the window of the truck. One person was checked by EMS. That person was apparently transported to the hospital by ambulance. (Photo by David Rogers) According to the incident report, the shooting appeared to stem from a road rage incident.

According to a news release from the Anderson County Sheriff’s office, on August 10, the deputies with the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office responded to Highway 81 North in Piedmont in reference to a shooting incident.

Upon arrival, deputies located three victims that stated while traveling on Highway 81 their vehicle was shot, by another motorist. The victim described the suspect vehicle as a light blue/gray sedan (possibly a Chrysler 300).

The driver of the vehicle and a three (3) year old passenger were injured during the incident. The three year old received several cuts from glass shards as the bullet entered the vehicle, breaking one of the rear windows. The suspect vehicle continued towards Powdersville from the area of Jameson Road on Highway 81 North.

The victim, who wishes to remain anonymous at this time, and their employer have offered a $5,000 dollar reward for information leading to an arrest in this case.
