Pedestrian fatally injured when struck by vehicle – Hwy. 29

The Anderson County Office of the Coroner is investigating the accident which resulted in a fatality. The incident happened on Hwy. 29 North just before Welcome Road, Williamston, around 10:37 p.m. Medshore EMS,
Anderson County Fire Department and the South Carolina Highway Patrol responded to the
scene. The victim was pronounced deceased on the scene of multiple traumatic injuries.
Brent Simpson, Deputy Coroner advised that the victim had not been identified at the time this news
release was sent out. According to the Coroner’s Office, witnesses said the female victim appeared to have gotten out of a vehicle that had left the area and was walking on the roadway when she was struck by a vehicle. The incident remains under investigation is by the Anderson County Office of the Coroner and the South
Carolina Highway Patrol.
