During their Sept. 9 meeting, Williamston Town Council heard a report on a GIS mapping program for the town’s infrastructure (see story) and approved funding for a feasibility study for a potential residential development in the town.
Following a lengthy executive session in which council met with developers regarding a potential residential development in Williamston, Council approved $15,000 in funding for a feasibility study to be done on the project.
Councilman Rockey Burgess made the motion to allow Mayor Mack Durham to enter into an agreement to pay the unnamed developer $15,000 for an initial feasibility analysis for a potential residential development project in the Town of Williamston. Mayor Durham will have discretion to approve the exact scope of services rendered to the Town in the feasibility analysis. The motion was seconded by Councilman Tony Hagood and was unanimously approved.
Durham said after the meeting that he hoped to be able to make an announcement on a proposed project soon.
