Improvised grenades, pipe bombs found in vacant residence – Old Georgia Road

 Greenville County Sheriff’s Office Investigators and members of the Hazardous Device Team were called out to  investigate suspicious items found at a vacant residence located at 310 Old Georgia Road earlier today (Oct. 1). According to reports, investigators responded to the vacant residence after a realtor discovered several suspicious items inside of a residence that has been vacant for roughly 2 years.
However deputies with the GCSO and HDT who responded discovered multiple improvised grenades, 2 pipe bombs (roughly four inches long) and several blasting caps inside. All of the items were rendered safe and deputies are wrapping up their investigation. Investigators do believe the items have been in the residence for a significant amount of time. There is no further investigation.
After checking the items, investigators determined the suspicious items are safe.
