Otis Trevion Newby, of Piedmont was fatally injured when he lost control of a white KIA Optima that traveling on Bessie Road, Piedmont toward US Highway 25.
According to Greenville County Coroner Parks Evans, “Mr. Newby’s vehicle ran off the right side of the roadway, over-corrected and went off the left side of the road and struck a large tree.”
Greenville County Coroner Evans said that Newby was not wearing a seatbelt and he was ejected from the vehicle.
Newby was pronounced dead on the scene.
This collision remains under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol and the Greenville County Coroner’s Office
