Robert Wood, Fred Galloway, Ellery Dalton, Julie Tate

Robert Wood

Pelzer – Robert Hollis Wood, 88, passed away peacefully Saturday, January 4, 2020, with his son, Robert H. Wood, Jr., at his side.

Born in Pelzer, he was a son of the late William Walter Wood and Lennie Annie Ramsey Wood. A proud Navy veteran and Furman University graduate, passionate fisherman and hunter, and a man of infinite love, compassion, integrity and patience, he was devoted to his wife, the late Irene Wood, and his family.

He is survived by his son, Robert H. Wood, Jr., of Pelzer; daughter, Cynthia Wood VanWyk of Round Lake, NY; grandchildren, Eric J., Jennifer Irene (Jonathan Woolley), and Emily J. VanWyk; and his great-grandson and namesake, Peter Hollis VanWyk.

He was predeceased by his siblings, Bertha, Harold, Lee Roy and Helen.

The service was held Friday, January 10, at 2:00 p.m. at Gray Mortuary Chapel, West Pelzer.

Fred Galloway

Fred Douglas Galloway, 81, of Piedmont passed away Thursday, January 9, 2020.

Born in Greenville, he was a son of the late Fred Newman and Ada Galloway.  He was retired from Roof Systems Inc.

He is survived by son, Henry D. Renner of Greenville; sister, Cynthia Ann Galloway West of Charleston; brother, William Galloway of Belton; five grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Visitation was Monday, January 13, at Conestee Assembly of God, followed by the service.  Burial was at Conestee Community Cemetery.

Ellery Dalton

Ellery Ethal Luker Dalton, 56,  of Rosman, NC wife of the late Edward Grey Dalton, Jr., passed away Thursday, January 9, 2020.

Born in Transylvania, NC, she was a daughter of the late Joseph Lewis and Mary Ethal Lail Luker.

She is survived by daughters, Rebecca Luker of Rosman, NC and Angela Dalton of Anderson; sons, Jesse James Dalton of Easley and Joseph Dalton of Abbeville; brother, Mark Kosht of Williamston; sisters, Martha Rice of Cashiers, NC and Margaret Camp of Hendersonville, NC; thirteen grandchildren; one great-grandchild.

Visitation was Tuesday, January 14, at Gray Mortuary. A memorial service followed in the mortuary chapel.

Julie Tate

Julie Tate of 33 Church Street, Williamston, entered into rest on Thursday, January 9th, 2020 at Prisma Health in Greenville. She was 64 years of age. A day to celebrate her life will be announced at a later date. The family is at the home, 33 Church Street, Williamston.
