On Tuesday (Feb. 26) at approximately 2:40pm, Anderson County Sheriff’s Deputies attempted to conduct a traffic stop near Michael Drive and Angela Drive in Piedmont.
The driver/suspect initially stopped and the deputy approached. While the deputy was at the vehicle the suspect put the vehicle in reverse, striking the deputy and their vehicle.
The suspect vehicle then led deputies in a pursuit that ended in Greenville County on Bessie Road near Stewart Drive. The driver was taken into custody and his charges are pending.
The deputy sustained minor abrasions to their knee and the SCHP has been requested to investigate the damaged patrol vehicle.
