The Piedmont Historical Preservation Society will hold its second annual Discover Piedmont Celebration this Saturday, March 7 from  9:00 A.M. to 7:00 P.M. at the community Building in downtown Piedmont.

“This will be a fun day for families to come and see what Piedmont is all about,” a spokesperson said. There will be Crafts, Vendors, Food, Gospel Singing and a 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament.
The Don Roper History Room will also be open for visitors to view all of the Historical Collections in the History Room and reminisce the past of Piedmont by looking at the old photos. The Historic Footbridge will also be remembered. There will be breakfast by the Black Sheep Café, hotdog lunch by the society, and food trucks in the afternoon.  “This celebration of our heritage will be cathartic and forward looking,” said Anne Peden, President of the Piedmont Historical Preservation Society.
“There is much to hope for – for the bridge as our major symbol, for the revitalization of the mill village up coming, and for the continued dedication to preserve Piedmont’s rich history.”
Piedmont blue ribbons were placed on the Hwy. 86 bridge to show solidarity for the mill village’s history and for its bright future.
“Everyone is invited. Bring your Family, Friends and Church Groups and enjoy some good fellowship and music,” Peden said.
