Anderson One has been approved to distribute lunch/breakfast at Cedar Grove Elementary, Palmetto Elementary, Concrete Primary (beginning March 18), and Spearman Elementary (beginning March 19) between 11:30 am and 1:00 pm. (Pick up lunch and breakfast for the following day.) Any student 18 or under is eligible to participate.
Other School Information/Scheduling during closure
All district field trips for the month of March have been cancelled. The district is working individually with schools and travel agents to make arrangements to reschedule or cancel field trips after March 31.  The district and schools are working to secure partial or full refunds for field trips.
Currently the district does not plan to make changes to the Spring Break scheduled for April 6-April 10. School District One plans to be closed on April 13.
The Military Ball at Palmetto High has been tentatively rescheduled for May 9th at the Williamston Town Hall.
CAPS conferences scheduled for March 19 have been cancelled and will be completed at a later time.
Students should be working on and completing eLearning assignments each day and directing questions, problems and issues to their teacher during their office hours: 9:00 – 10:30  and 1:30-3:00, Monday through Friday (except Friday, March 20 and Monday, March 23 which are student holidays). eLearning is designed to provide learning opportunities for students similar to those they would experience in a regular school day. Teachers will require students to complete and turn in assignments so they can assess learning and provide timely feedback.
For grades PreK to grade two, students with access to the internet may obtain and complete lessons from the school’s communication system (Seesaw, etc.).  Paper packets may be picked up from the main office of your child’s elementary school.  Completed work will be returned to the teacher once school reopens.
The Governor has initially closed schools from March 16 through March 31. There is a possibility that the Governor could extend the school closure for an indefinite amount of time.  District administration is staying in close contact with the Governor’s office and the SC Department of Education and will communicate with parents as updated information is provided.
Sports teams will not gather to practice or play during this school closure. This defeats the purpose of “social distancing” as recommended by the CDC. The High School League has suspended all spring sports through April 5. This includes all contests, practices, work-outs (conditioning and strength training) and/or open season skill development.
Information is being posted to the District One website as it becomes available. If you have questions, please contact your child’s school or the District Office (847-7344).
