Anderson County is continuing efforts to protect the health and well-being of both residents and employees during the current coronavirus crisis. Anderson County Convenience Center remain open however the County’s Solid Waste will no longer be accepting certain recyclable materials through May1.

Recycling Centers will no longer take clear, brown, green glass, nor aluminum or steel cans as these items require manual sorting, and viruses may cling to the surface and may expose staff to COVID-19. If not sure, ask the ambassador for recycling details.

The exception will be in effect until May 1, however, it is subject to change as the Coronavirus evolves.

Anderson County Recycling and Convenience Centers are operating on a regular schedule. Hours of operations for each site are available at www.andersoncountysc.org/solid-waste.

“Please be patient as County staff are doing the best they can to continue to serve its citizens during this uncertain time,” said Greg Smith, Solid Waste Manager
