The Town of Williamston has made it possible to have festival banners placed back across West Main Street. New poles and a easier way of hanging banners will allow promotion of upcoming festivals and events. The Pig in the Park Barbecue Festival and Cookoff will be the first of 2020, if it can happen May 15-16. Organizers say they are planning to make it happen and already have seven cooking teams signed up. “We are still planning on having it,” said co-organizer W. L. Cantrell. “We are waiting to see what happens. Today we 7 cooking teams several teams are just like us waiting to see. But May 1 will be the day we really will know what’s going to happen.” If the event happens, it will the 10th year for the local festival in Mineral Spring Park.
