A power outage in the Cherokee Road area of Williamston raised concerns of possible sewer overflow at the Cherokee Road Pump Station. A truck was brought in to pump from the station until power was restored, according to Williamston public utilities director David Rogers. A number of residences in that area were also without power Monday morning.

Roger said there were a number of large tree limbs downed in Williamston during the sever thunderstorm that swept through the area early this morning. Some streets were blocked until debris could be cleaned up including Anderson Street, where a power line was down, West 3rd St. where a large limb blocked the road and College Drive where a limb was blocking the road.
