Meals On Wheels offers distribution site in Powdersville

In response to the number of senior citizens in need during the current pandemic situation, Meals on Wheels Anderson, Southern Way Catering, Anderson County and a private donor are working together to feed those in need at locations across the county.
Together, they are expecting to provide 5,000 meals a week over the next six weeks to the senior population in the Anderson County. On Northern Anderson County, they will be at the Piedmont Shopping Center, 900 Block of Anderson Road, Powdersville on Thursdays from 1 pm – 2:30 pm
Only two meal packs will be allowed per car (10 individual meals) and individuals are only permitted one pick-up per week.
Locations for the food distribution include:
Tuesdays 10:30 am – noon Anderson Civic Center, 3027 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd
Tuesdays 1 pm – 2:30 pm Pendleton First Baptist, 351 S. Broad Street, Pendleton
Thursdays 10:30 am – noon Homeland Park Water Company, 3231 D L Drive, Anderson
Thursdays 1 pm – 2:30 pm Piedmont Shopping Center, 900 Block of Anderson Road, Powdersville
Saturdays 10:30 am – noon  BHP High School, 11000 Belton Honea Path Highway, Honea Path
Saturdays 1 pm – 2:30 pm Iva Town Square, 103 East Jackson Street, Iva
 Requirements include:
Must be a senior citizen (60+) or taking the meal to a senior citizen and be a resident of Anderson County
Must provide name, address, and phone number at pick-up
Only two meal packs allowed per car (10 individual meals)
Individuals are only permitted one pick-up per week
Each individual must show a state issued ID. If you are picking up a meal for a senior resident, please have their ID with you
