Piedmont – West Cox is running for re-election as a Republican for the South Carolina State House of Representatives in District 10. District 10 includes the northeast Anderson County communities of Piedmont, Powdersville, White Plains and Three and Twenty as well as parts of Greenville and Pickens Counties.

“I am running for re-election to the State House because we still have much to accomplish,” Cox said. “Over the last year, I have worked tirelessly for the citizens of District 10.  I have worked to ensure that government is working in our District and that we are getting the services and resources we deserve.  I will continue to work to ensure our state government finds ways to be more efficient and ensure that we, the citizens, get the most out of every tax dollar.”
While in office, Cox has voted to raise teacher pay and pay for police officers, law enforcement, and firefighters.  He has voted to fund a school resource officer and access to mental health counselor in every school in South Carolina.  Cox also worked hard to establish the South Carolina Office of Veteran’s Affairs, a new cabinet level agency, dedicated to serving those who have protected our freedom and served our country.
His campaign will focus on bringing efficiency and transparency to state government while working to ensure the district has the attention and resources it needs from its State House Representative.
Cox has always had a passion for his community. He is a dedicated volunteer for several area organizations that focus on making the community a better place to live.
“I believe everyone should use their god given abilities to serve their community and the people living in those communities. Over the past year, I believe I have done that.  I hope I have helped make this community a better place to live, work, and raise our families. Through leadership and determination, I will continue this work.”
Cox is an attorney with Cox & Cole, LLC practicing in the areas of real estate law, probate and estate planning.  He is a product of Anderson County School District One Schools, is a Clemson University graduate, and received his law degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law.  Cox is married to Caroline, with whom he lives in the Piedmont community.  They have a young son, who is the joy of their lives.
