The National Night Out event held across the nation is being postponed or canceled due to anticipated large crowds.
Instead of cancelling locally, the Town of West Pelzer wants to bring National Night Out to your to home in the community that want to participate.

The event will be similar to the parade events that have been popular during the COVID-19 shutdown, but children can still enjoy it.

According to their website, National Night Out enhances the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community. It also provides a great opportunity to bring police and neighbors together under positive circumstances.

The event has been popular in West Pelzer. Usually held at Chapman Park and the Municipal Center, this year will be different.

“We want to bring National Night Out to your front door,” said West Pelzer Mayor Blake Sanders. “Let the town know by email how many children are in your household from K4-6th Grade and we’ll let you know a special time in August that the West Pelzer Police Department, West Pelzer Fire Department, and Pelzer EMS will stop by with goodies and let children climb on the trucks!”
