Around 12 noon (July 29), Task Force Officers with the Greenville County Drug Enforcement Unit were conducting a narcotics investigation that involved a vehicle, whose occupant(s) ultimately presented a firearm to officers and fled from units on scene, after they initiated a traffic stop. A pursuit ensued, however officers ultimately lost site of the vehicle before later locating it and discovering it had been involved in a collision with multiple vehicles. At least one injury was reported at the collision site, which is near the intersection of Fork Shoals Road and Ashmore Bridge. No deputies were injured and at least one suspect was taken into custody.
The collision is being investigated by the S.C. Highway Patrol.
