South Greenville Fire Department dedicates new fire engine

South Greenville Fire District dedicated its latest fire engine for service to the district’s citizens and fire prevention during a ceremony Aug. 20. The ceremony was held at SGFD Station 74 (Ware Place) where the new apparatus will be stationed. The new Pierce Engine replaces a 2004 E-1 which will be placed in a reserve role within the District. SGFD currently serves some 143 sq. miles of South Greenville County. The District operates seven stations throughout the District on a full time basis with 63 fire personnel plus 8 dispatchers.
