DHEC reports 934 COVID related patients currently hospitalized

On Monday (Aug. 31) the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC) reported 651 new confirmed cases and 26 new probable cases of the novel coronavirus COVID-19. DHEC also reported 12 additional confirmed deaths and no new probable deaths.

Anderson County reported 23 new cases and no COVID related deaths.
Greenville County reported 51 new cases and no COVID related deaths.

There are 934 COVID related patients hospitalized in the state. Of those, 247 are in ICU and 136 are ventilated.

The total number of individual test results reported to DHEC yesterday statewide was 4,177 (not including antibody tests) and the percent positive was 15.6%.

Since July 22, the federal government has required hospitals nationwide to report data directly to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services through a new TeleTracking system, which replaces the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)’s National Healthcare Safety Network system that had been used initially by hospitals for reporting COVID-19 data.

DHEC reported the following TeleTracking system information:

COVID patients in ICU: 247 26.45% of COVIDs are in ICU
COVID patients ventilated: 136 14.56% of COVIDS are ventilated

 

DHEC COVID-19 Weekend Update
On Sunday (Aug. 30)  DHEC reported 1,019 new confirmed cases and 28 new probable cases of the novel coronavirus COVID-19. DHEC reported11 additional confirmed deaths and zero new probable deaths.
The total number of individual test results reported to DHEC yesterday statewide was 4,730 (not including antibody tests) and the percent positive was 21.5%.
Aug. 19 – DHEC reported 1,250 new confirmed cases and 34 new probable cases of the novel coronavirus COVID-19, 42 additional confirmed deaths and 3 new probable deaths.
The total number of individual test results reported to DHEC Saturday statewide was 6,087 (not including antibody tests) and the percent positive was 20.5%.
On Friday (Aug. 28) DHEC reported 903 new confirmed cases and 34 new probable cases of COVID-19. DHEC reported 23 confirmed deaths and 5 new probable deaths.
