Mike Storey

Samuel Michael “Mike” Storey, Sr. of Williamston, 72, husband of Ursula Brigitte Wunderlich Storey, passed away Wednesday, August 26, 2020.

Born in Greenville, he was the son of the late William Joseph and Mildred Sue Ford Storey. A U.S. Air Force veteran, he retired from Michelin Tire Company in Sandy Springs, and was a member of Friendship Baptist Church, in Williamston.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons, Samuel Michael Storey, Jr. of Williamston and Stephen Mark Storey of Liberty; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

A memorial service was held at Friendship Baptist Church in Williamston, on August 29.

Mildred Hooper

Mildred Jane Fricks Hooper of Lexington, 90, formerly of Piedmont, wife to the late David Earl Hooper, passed away Sunday, August 30, 2020.

 Born in Anderson County, she was the daughter of the late, James Henry and Willie Evans Fricks.  She was a homemaker and a member of Life Church.

She is survived by son, William Earl “Buddy” Hooper of Lexington; three grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, September 3, at 1:00 p.m. at Greenville Memorial. Gray Mortuary, Pelzer

Kathy Allen

Piedmont – Kathy Dianne Kirby Allen, 71, wife of Jackie Melvin “Jack” Allen, passed away Monday, August 24, 2020.

Born in Decatur, AL, she was the daughter of the late George O. and Dorris White Kirby. She was a homemaker and a member of Middleton Road Baptist Church, in Anderson. 

 In addition to her husband, survivors include her children, Charles Wayne Galloway, Jr. (Sharon) of Westminster, George David Galloway (Lora) of Twin Falls, ID, Jacqueline Marie Martin of Iva, and Jason Lee Allen of Westminster; brothers, Bobby Kirby (Lanita) of Hartsville, AL and Don Kirby (Lisa) of Decatur, AL; four grandchildren, Alexander Brook Greer (Drew), Madison Leigh Martin, Abigail Lena Martin, and Logan Galloway; and one great-grandchild, Skylar Renee Greer.

   She was predeceased by a brother, David Kirby.

A memorial service was held on August 29, at Middleton Road Baptist Church, visitation followed.

Lois Strickland

Lois Elizabeth Hansford Strickland of Belton, 92, wife of the late John Frank Strickland, passed away Tuesday, September 1, 2020.

Born in Carnesville, GA, she was a daughter of the late James Wesley and Pamela Ellen Elgin Hansford. She retired from the 7-Eleven in Belton and was a member of Restoration Chapel in Williamston.

She is survived by sons, Leroy Andrew Strickland and Gerald Lee Strickland both of Williamston; daughters, Sue Ellen Strickland Patton of Williamston and Kathleen Elizabeth Strickland Chapman of Antreville; daughter-in-law, Nomia Lou Williams Strickland of the home; fourteen grandchildren; and a number of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, September 2 at Beaverdam Baptist Church Cemetery.

Shannon Buff

Shannon Tennille Morris Buff of West Pelzer, 28, widow of Craig Everett Buff, died Sunday, August 30, 2020.

Born in Anderson County, she was a daughter of Harold Morris (Grace) of Easley and Tennie Marie Arch (Tim Hammond) of West Pelzer.

   In addition to her parents, she is survived by daughters, Tesla and Treannity of the home; brothers, Alan Morris of Pelzer and Jeff Hammond of Simpsonville; grandparents, Elsie Feather of Cherokee, NC, Margaret Barr of Easley, and Lou and Karen Hammond of Piedmont.

   Visitation will be held from 11:00 am – 12:00 p.m. Friday, September 4, at Gray Mortuary, Pelzer with the funeral service following at 12:00 p.m. in the mortuary chapel.  Burial will be at Robinson Memorial Gardens, Easley.

Michael Lee Snipes

Laurens- Michael Lee Snipes, age 69, of Laurens, and husband of Connie Davis Snipes, passed away on Monday, August 31, 2020, at his home after a long battle with cancer.

Born in Laurens, he was a son of the late Albert Lee and Mary Jane Bryant Snipes.  Michael was a longtime employee with Bosch Rexroth and was a member of Highland Home Baptist Church.

Surviving in addition to his wife are his daughter, Kayla Snipes Edwards (Charlie) of Laurens; step-daughter, Becki Barnard of Pelzer; sister, Sandra Powers of Simpsonville; grandchildren, Kaylie Edwards, Carly Edwards, Charlie Edwards III, Hunter Barnard, and Hayden Barnard.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, September 3, 2020, at Greenville Memorial Gardens conducted by Rev. Ben Rumph.

The family will receive friends at the cemetery immediately following the graveside service.
