SC seeing rise in new COVID cases, Greenville County reports 143 new cases

On Thursday (Oct. 15) the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC) reported 1,072 new confirmed cases and 95 new probable cases of COVID-19.

Anderson County reported 28 new cases and no deaths related to COVID.
Greenville County reported 143 new cases (the most in the state for Oct. 15) and no deaths.
Spartanburg was second with 112 new cases.

DHEC also reported 11 additional confirmed deaths and 3 new probable deaths related to COVID. AS of Thursday, thisĀ brings the total number of confirmed deaths in South Carolina to 3,400, and 207 probable deaths.

The total number of individual test results reported to DHEC yesterday statewide was 8,459 (not including antibody tests) and the percent positive was 12.7%.
There were 762 COVID patients in hospitals across the state. Of those 204 are in ICU and 94 are on ventilators.
