Investigators with the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office have made an arrest in connection with the September 19th shooting at Lakeside Park (1500 Piedmont Highway), which left a person dead.
Raymond Thorne, Jr., 32 has been arrested on connection with the incident in which Keith Watkins Jr. was shot and killed following an ongoing conflict between the two men.
GCSO Investigators said they believe the shooting was a result of a gang-related conflict that took place during the night time hours, in the back of Lakeside Park.
Following the shooting, Thorne, Jr. fled the scene and the victim’s body was located a short time later by deputies who responded to the shooting.
Thorne, Jr. was arrested Friday morning in Greenwood during a traffic stop by the Greenwood County Sheriff’s Office. He has since been transferred to the custody of GCSO and remains in the Greenville County Detention Center on a temporary bond.
