SCDHEC – COVID cases and hospitalizations continue to increase

On Tuesday (Dec. 8) the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control reported 2,115 new confirmed cases and 33 probable cases of COVID-19.
DHEC also reported 4 new deaths and 2 probable deaths related to COVID.

Anderson County reported 92 new cases and 1 probable case.
Greenville County reported 371 new cases.

This bring the total number of deaths related to COVID to 4,253 probable deaths to 332.

There were 11,214 new individual test results reported statewide (not including antibody tests)
with 18.9% testing positive.

Hospitalizations continue to see an increase with 1,179 COVID patients currently in hospitals across the state. Of those, 276 are in ICU and 118 are ventilated.
