Beginning this week, residents and contractors planning to do work in the Town of Williamston will be able to obtain building permits and plan reviews locally. Anderson County will no longer issue permits for any project located within the corporate limits of the Town of Williamston.

The town has signed a contract with CC&I LLC Services of Roebuck, SC, for the permitting and code services. The company will provide building, mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire inspections for permitted residential and commercial projects.
Mayor Rockey Burgess said the change will “provide better customer service for developers” in that they will not have to come to the town, then go to the county for the permitting and codes.

The Town has also adopted the same permit fee schedule as Anderson County. The town will receive 20 percent of all funds collected which will go into a new codes abatement fund.

For permits, contact Debbie Chapman at 864-847-7473 to verify that your project is compliant with zoning ordinances. Then simply go to the town website at www.williamstonsc.us and click on permits to fill out the application and click submit.
