Anderson School District 1 Board extends Superintendent’s contract, approves personnel

Following an executive session held near the end of the Jan. 26 Anderson School Board meeting, the Board unanimously approved a one year extension of Superintendent Robbie Binnicker’s contract and the sale of property for economic development purposes. Council also approved several personnel recommendations.
Superintendent Binnicker’s contract was extended for one year until June 30, 2024.

The Board also gave the Superintendent permission to enter a Contract for the Sale of approximately 0.24 acres of land for Economic Development Purposes. The strip of property is located adjacent to the ballfields behind Town Square Center.

The following personnel recommendations were also approved:
Recommendations – Margaret Black, Media Specialist, Powdersville Elementary; Bridget Cowen, Fourth Grade, Powdersville Elementary; Maya Dixon, Special Education; Amanda Emery, Special Education; Hannah Keller, Special Education; Alphonso Richards, Elementary Education; Amelia Scales, Special Education; Kyle Stewart, Social Studies, Powdersville High; Hannah Toole, Special Education; Karla Schultz, Special Education.
Administrative Retirement – Dr. Kelly Pew, Assistant Superintendent of Administration.
Transfer – Hope Meares, Fifth Grade, Palmetto Elementary School to Instructional Technologist at Wren Elementary.
Resignations – Melissa Michael, Fifth Grade, Powdersville Elementary; Rachael Williams, Spanish, Wren Middle
Leave – Anna Izard, English Teacher, Wren Middle; Tammy Poole, Kindergarten, Wren Elementary; Ruth Saleeby, Special Education, Palmetto Elementary; Erin Vandiver, Second Grade, Wren Elementary.
