Williamston Police Officers investigated the following incidents:

March 5 – John Adam Hester, 39, 128 Sydney Ln., Piedmont was arrested on several charges after OFC. Thomas Henderson initiated a traffic stop Ida Tucker Road on a vehicle for no taillights. Reports state that upon approaching the car, the officer smelled marijuana and observed a couple of joints in the ashtray. A subsequent search revealed drug paraphernalia as well. The driver was also unable to produce the vehicle’s registration or proof of insurance. Hester was charged with possession of .65 grams of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia including a glass pipe and digital scale, expired registration, no proof of insurance and altered license plate. He was transported to the ACDC.
March 18 – Cpl. D. Hart responded to a 911 hang up incident at 17 Edgewood Rd. En route, the call was changed to a vandalism report. He arrived and received a report from David Bakley that a tool box on his work trailer had been damaged by someone.
March 21 – Cpl. D. Hart responded to 114 Tripp St. where Brenda Johnson Bonds, BF, reported the theft of her white 2007 Chevrolet Impala from her residence. The vehicle is valued at $5555. Three days later, the car was located on the side of the road, having run out of gas. Bonds had her son put some fuel in the car and drive it home. She informed the WPD of the recovery.
March 24 – PTL. J. Sparks responded to the Williamston Church of God in reference to a vandalism complaint. Windy Ann Graham reported that someone had egged the front of the church.
March 25 – PTL. J. Sparks observed a vehicle passing a car on W. Main St. and initiated a traffic stop. The driver, Lionel Thornton, 40 was subsequently found to have a suspended license, first offense. He was ticketed and the vehicle was released to a licensed driver.
March 27 – PTL. D. Vickery stopped a vehicle for speeding. The vehicle pulled into the BP station at the intersection of Beaverdam Road and Anderson Hwy. The driver, Author Lee Estrick, BM, 67, 6’1”, 184 pounds was found to be driving on a license suspended for non-payment of property taxes. He was transported to ACDC.
