Joyce Brewer

Greenville – Joyce Jeanette Brewer, 89, passed away Monday, April 12, 2021.

Born in Anderson, she was the daughter of the late William Grady and Carrie Holliday Brewer.  She was a retired bookkeeper from Bob Ledford’s Adventure Motorhomes and a Methodist.

Services are planned for a later date.

Sadie Davis

Sadie Kelley Davis of Piedmont, 87, wife of the late Frank Dendy Davis, passed away Monday, April 12, 2021.

Born in Piedmont, she was the daughter of the late Jesse Paul and Lydia Ethel Motes Kelley. She retired from Ruth’s Fashions and was a Baptist.

She is survived by daughter, Ann Craine of Pelzer; sons, Mark Davis of Piedmont and Tim Davis of Powdersville; brother, Bobby Joe Kelley of Piedmont; grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, April 17, at Gray Mortuary Chapel, Pelzer. The family will greet friends following the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that you plant a tree in memory of Sadie.

Due to Covid-19, the family requests that masks be worn and social distancing observed.

Sue Patton

October 17, 1945- April 12, 2021

Camilla Sue Patton, 75, of Pelzer, SC, passed away at Anmed Health Medical Center on April 12, 2021 after a battle with cancer.

Sue was the daughter of the late Clyde and Ruth Taylor. She is predeceased by her brothers Carlton, Bobby, and Jimmy Taylor.

She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Larry Patton, her sons Randall Watkins and Ken Watkins (Tammy), her grandchildren Lisa Eller (Brandon), Lynn Smith (Donnie), Kody Watkins, Jarek Cann, Jamie Watkins, and her 3 great-grandchildren. 

Sue was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a devoted member of West Pelzer Baptist Church.

Those who wish to pay their respects are invited to visit at the family home in Pelzer, SC.  A memorial will be held at West Pelzer Baptist Church at a later date.

Judy Bannister

Gerald Ann Cox “Judy” Bannister of Williamston, 87, wife of the late Billy Thomas Bannister, passed away Sunday, April 11, 2021.

Born in Anderson, she was the daughter of the late Pat E. and Rhoda Grace Thompson Cox. She retired from Fiber Industries and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

She is survived by daughter, Rhonda Gay Lewis of Belton; daughter-in-law, Vickie B. Bannister, with whom she lived; five grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 15 at Calvary Baptist Church Youth Sanctuary, with visitation to follow.

Richard “Rick” Henderson

Richard Edwin “Rick” Henderson of Piedmont, 55, passed away Wednesday, April 7, 2021.

Born in Greenville County, he was the son of Sue A. Henderson of Piedmont and of the late Charles Edwin Henderson. He was a retired mechanic.

No services will be held at this time.

Ray Billingsley

Ray Norman Billingsley of Pelzer, 78, husband of Annette Elizabeth Campbell Billingsley, passed away Saturday, April 10, 2021.

Born in Piedmont, he was a son of the late Furman A. and Ruby Janell Palmer Billingsley. He retired from Michelin Tire Company and was a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Williamston.

   In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Sonya Harrison (Chip) of Belton, Phillip Billingsley of Pelzer, Teresa Medlin of Travelers Rest, Timmy Billingsley of Williamston, Derrell Chapman of Augusta, and Johnathan Chapman of Pelzer; 22 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held April 14, at Trinity Baptist Church. The funeral followed with burial at Greenville Memorial Gardens.

David Kellett

David Alton Kellett of Pelzer, Jr., 84, husband of Joyce Adams Kellett, passed away Sunday, April 11, 2021.

Born in Greenville County, he was a son of the late David Alton Kellett, Sr. and Nettie Iv Poole Kellett. A U.S. Air Force veteran, he retired from the Kendall Company (Pelzer, Upper Mill). 

In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughters, Sandra Martinez of Augusta, GA and Sharon Johnson of Ware Shoals; sons, Bruce Kellett of Newport, TN, Randy Kellett of Gray Court, and Dean Kellett of Ware Shoals; step-daughter, Roberta Watts of St. Louis, MO; sisters, Wilma Jean Lollis of Honea Path and Bobbie Boiter of Augusta, GA; 15 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Visitation was held April 13 at Gray Mortuary.

The funeral was April 14,  in the mortuary chapel, followed by entombment at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum.

Leslie Ragsdale

Leslie Ann Rankin Ragsdale of Easley, 71, wife of Marc, mother of Caid, passed away April 9, 2021.

Born in Morristown, TN, she was the daughter of the late John Lamar and Myrtle Fern Henry Rankin. She was a homemaker, writer, artist, and poet.

 In addition to her husband and son, she is survived by a brother, Rodney Rankin of Corpus Christi, TX.

A private memorial service will be held.

Scott Nabors

Byron Scott Nabors of Williamston, 37, fiancé of Kristy Faye Johnston, passed away Friday, April 9, 2021.

   Born in Pickens, he was self-employed in residential construction.

In addition to his fiancé, he is survived by father, Ricky Edward Nabors; mother, Laura Garrett Stubbs and step-father, Steven Stubbs of Greenville; sons Lincoln Nabors of the home and Jackson Bostick of Winston Salem, NC; daughters, Tayler and Chyler Hogg of Williamston; brother, Brett Nabors of Westminster; and sister, Ashley Nabors of Greenville.

The family received friends Sunday, April 11, at Gray Mortuary, with the funeral following in the mortuary chapel.

Wilma Taylor

Pelzer – Wilma Audrey Jordan Taylor, 93, wife of the late James Robert Taylor, passed away Sunday, April 11, 2021.

Born in Ware Place, she was a daughter of the late Russell D. and Lera Mae Chapman Jordan. She was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church, Pelzer.

She is survived by daughters, Alva Taylor Sapp (Sonny) and Rita Taylor Atkins (Doug); sons, James Gregory Taylor and Jeffrey Darren Taylor (Tonya); sister, Connie Jordan Campbell (Jack); grandchildren, Jason Sapp (Heather), Andy Atkins (Dana), Travis Taylor (Maegan) and Alli Taylor; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by three sisters; one brother; and granddaughters, Leah Hope Atkins and Haley Anna Taylor.

The service was held at 11:00 am Tuesday, April 13, at Tabernacle Baptist Church (519 Anderson St., Pelzer) visitation followed. A private committal service will be held.

Memorials may be made to Tabernacle Baptist Church, P.O. Box 268, Pelzer, SC 29669.
