Investigators with the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office have arrested a Piedmont man in connection with the death of a man whose body was found in the woods behind 101 Palamon Street in Piedmont on Sunday.
Investigators arrested 20 year-old, Russel Wydell Giliam, Jr., 101 Palamon Street, Piedmont in connection with the death. He is charged with Murder and Possession of a Weapon during a Violent Crime.
GCSO investigators said they learned that on or about April 17, 2021 the Giliam, Jr. stabbed the victim multiple times following a verbal altercation that occurred at the residence. The identity of the victim is pending the autopsy results from the Greenville County Coroner’s Office.
Gilliam, Jr. is currently in the Greenville County Detention Center on no bond.
