The accident occurred around 4:30 pm on McAlister Road in Williamston.

Charlie Boseman, Chief Deputy Coroner identified the victim as Hunter Madden, 21, of Fountain Inn. Boseman said Madden died during surgery at Prisma Health Care at 7:31 pm due to Multiple Traumatic Injuries Secondary to Blunt Force Trauma. The investigation indicated that the vehicle that was traveling on McAlister Road and apparently traveled off the roadway, struck several trees resulting in severe damage to the vehicle and the victim being trapped in the car. The victim was unrestrained and required extrication by Rescue Personnel. Speed also appears to be a significant factor in the crash, Boseman said.
The investigation is ongoing by the Anderson County Office of the Coroner and the
South Carolina Highway Patrol.
