West Pelzer Mayor Blake Sanders, with the recommendation from an appointed search committee, has selected Scott Stoller to serve as the Chief of Police for the Town of West Pelzer. Upon the retirement of previous Chief Eliopoulos, Mayor Sanders appointed a committee of active and retired public safety officers, members of Council Committees, and members of the public to assist in scoring and interviews of potential candidates. Stoller emerged as one of the top candidates for the position after multiple interviews.

Chief Stoller has served as a public servant his entire career, receiving certifications and awards from the South
Carolina Police Chiefs Association, South Carolina Association of Counties, and the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy. He has served in Greenville County and Anderson County in various roles from Paramedic/Program
Coordinator and Special Operations Director to Lieutenant at the West Pelzer Police Department.

Joining the West Pelzer Police Department in 2016, Chief Stoller has focused on patrol, prevention, and investigations of criminal activity, providing leadership as a Specific Skills Instructor, NARCAN instructor, and grant administrator.

“He is passionate about building trust between the community and the surrounding public safety agencies through an enriched community engagement,” Mayor Sanders said. “Chief Stoller brings this leadership position promising programs, specific goals and objectives for policing in smaller municipalities. He is enacting a five-point strategic vision that will lead the Town of West Pelzer forward”.

The five-point strategic vision includes:

1. Building Trust and Legitimacy (Coffee with a Cop/National Night Out)

3. Community Policing (Crime Watch, Promoting Mutual Respect, Problem Identification by Community)
4. Training and Education (Offering Effective Training for Mental Health, Cultural Differences, and
Leadership)
5. Officer Wellness and Safety (Adjusting Shift Lengths, Additional Equipment/Gear)

In addition to serving the Town of West Pelzer, Chief Stoller is an active volunteer Firefighter at the West Pelzer
Fire Department and Firefighter/Paramedic at Clear Springs Fire-Rescue (Simpsonville, SC). He also volunteers at
the Special Olympics South Carolina and Special Olympics USA Games and the Mauldin Miracle League.
